Pol. Maj. Gen. Jaturapat Bhiromkaew, Deputy Spokesperson of the Royal Thai Police, announced that The Royal Thai Police is fully prepared to welcome tourists to the 2026 Songkran Festival. Under the theme “Celebrate Safely, Respect Rights, and Preserve Thai Culture,” we have deployed officers nationwide to ensure your convenience, security, and a world-class festive experience.

To help us make this Songkran safe and memorable for everyone, we kindly request all visitors to follow these key guidelines:

1. Road Safety First: We are strictly enforcing “Don’t Drink and Drive” laws with nationwide checkpoints. Please follow all traffic rules to prevent accidents and keep our roads safe.

2. Safe & Fun Water Play: Please engage in water festivities courteously. The use of high-pressure water guns and the smearing of powder or paint are prohibited, as they can cause public nuisance and safety hazards.

3. Respect and Consent: Respecting personal boundaries is crucial. Non-consensual physical contact and sexual harassment are severe criminal offenses. Our officers will take immediate action on any complaints.

4. Be Mindful of Belongings: While enjoying crowded areas like Silom or Khao San Road, please keep an eye on your personal items to prevent pickpocketing.
